Spurs overcame Manchester United 1-0 in the Bilbao final in what was a scrappy game with very little quality between the two Premier League strugglers.
But former Celtic manager Postecoglou has emerged victorious and kept his promise of always winning trophies in his second seasons at clubs – just like he did for the Hoops in 2022/23.
Celtic congratulated Ange last night on social media, while the SPFL also posted a brilliant tribute to the victorious Spurs boss.
And now Brendan Rodgers has offered his own message to Ange having watched the final on television with just two days until his own Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen.
Rodgers blasts ‘nonsense’ Postecoglou has had to deal with
The Northern Irishman faced the press before the Celtic vs Aberdeen showdown at Hampden this Saturday, but was asked about Ange’s achievement with Spurs.
Rodgers is delighted for the man who preceded him at Parkhead and called out the Aussie-Greek’s critics for the “nonsense” they have served him this season.
The Celtic boss said: “Yeah, it was brilliant. I am so pleased for Ange on a personal level. It has obviously been a tough season, and he has had to cope with a lot of nonsense this year.
“So, to see him happy at the end of the game and the team, I was so pleased for him.
“But no, it’s absolutely brilliant for him. I think he’s gone there, he’s worked very hard, brought an idea to the club, trying to change a culture, and that’s never easy.
“So to go in and arrive there and then to do that and then give the club the Champions League again, which is great, and then look to build and continue moving forward next season.”

Rodgers vs Postecoglou at Celtic
Celtic fans were gutted when Postecoglou left Paradise for Tottenham in the summer of 2023, as they waved goodbye to ‘Angeball’.
He won five major honours as Celtic manager in two seasons, culminating in the Treble.
But Hoops supporters knew, despite initial opposition, that Rodgers would replace him and continue to bring success – which is exactly what he’s done.
