• Tottenham 1-0 Manchester United – REACTION

  Right, that’s it from us this evening, as Tottenham Hotspur win the Europa League, ending their 17-year trophy drought.

  It was also the club’s first European trophy in 41 years, while Ange Postecoglou came through on his promise to win a trophy in his second season.

  Look, we’ve not really mentioned Man United since the full time whistle, but this is all about Spurs.

  This is their night, it’s their time, and it’s an evening the fans will hold onto for the rest of their lives.

  There are sure to be some very sore heads in Bilbao and north London tomorrow because Tottenham have won the Europa League.

• Trophy parade

  Right, Tottenham fans here are the details for the trophy parade.

  The parade is looking likely to take place on Friday, May 23.

  We are looking at a 3pm start for the celebration where the Spurs players will show off the Europa League trophy.

  It is expected to end at about 4:30pm before the players gather on a stage at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

  There will then be a special presentation at 5pm.

  What an incredible night for Tottenham Hotspur and their fans.

  Those lucky enough to be in the ground this evening have a memory to cherish forever, but no matter where these Spurs supporters were, they would have enjoyed it.

• ‘Making a declaration’

  Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been speaking after winning the Europa League.

  The Australian has ended the club’s trophy drought and was delighted to do so.

  He said: “I am still taking it all in. I know what it means for this football club.

  “I could sense the nervousness of everybody at the club because they’ve been in these situations before, and until you get that monkey off your back, you never understand what it feels like.

  “I am hoping this group can now believe in themselves, and for the supporters, it is just what it means to them, which is incredible.

  “I’ve always felt knockout football is different to league football, it comes down to organisation and having a real game plan.

  “I felt comfortable once we got ahead.”

  And on his famous quote, he said: “I think people misinterpreted it.

  “It wasn’t me boasting, it was me making a declaration – and I believed it.

  “I just had this thing inside me that nothing would change this football club unless we won something, and when I said that, that was my intent.

  “If I fell short, I was happy to cop it, but I believed it inside me, and I couldn’t expect anyone in the club to say that because the club has been so close.

  “Everyone kept reminding me of it, but the reason I kept being reminded about it is because there was still a chance to do it.”

  Brennan Johnson has staunchly defended Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham Hotspur won the Europa League.

  The Welsh international scored the winner against Manchester United and was asked about the famous quote from the Australian.

  In his interview with TNT Sports, Johnson said: “If there was ever time for a mic drop, it’s now. I am looking forward to his interview.”

  To be fair, I can’t wait for it either because he’s took some stick for that comment and has delivered.

  The moment Tottenham fans have been waiting for is here.

  Heung-min Son gets the trophy, and he lifts it into the Bilbao night sky.

  Spurs end their trophy drought and ensure they will be in the Champions League next season.

  Well, that’s it, Tottenham Hotspur are the Europa League champions and will be playing Champions League football next season.

  And it was a hugely emotional night for Jamie O’Hara.

  On the talkSPORT watchalong, he said: “All the years I’ve had to put up with this. 17 years of hurt. 17 years of being the laughter track. 17 years of having to dig ourselves out of the mud and we’ve finally got over the line.

  “It’s unbelievable. It’s massive. Champions League football and a trophy. Ange you beauty.

  The striker loops the header towards goal, and Micky van de Ven makes a world-class clearance.

  That’s the end of the first 45 minutes, and Tottenham are 45 minutes away from winning the Europa League.

  In a game of barely any quality, it is Brennan Johnson with the goal.

  The Welsh international reacted faster than anyone else in the box to stick an effort past Andre Onana at the near post.

  Down the other end, Amad Diallo has gone close, but that is it.

  It’s a brilliant cross into the box, and Brennan Johnson is there to make an excellent block.

  There is some brief concern for Cristian Romero, who takes an accidental elbow to the face, but he’s all good to carry on.

  Tottenham look to break from a Man United attack, and the Brazilian brings the striker down.

  The referee decides that isn’t worthy of a yellow card.

  Harry Maguire lifts a fantastic ball in behind Pedro Porro.

  Patrick Dorgu races to meet it, and squeezes a cross into the box.

  The cross is blocked, and from the corner, Guglielmo Vicario produces a terrible punch that lands at Maguire’s feet.

  He lays it back to Amad Diallo, who rifles a shot just past the far post.
