Gustavo Hamer could be an excellent piece of business for the 49ers this summer as Leeds United look to raid Sheffield United.

Hamer has been the name on fans’ lips for a while now, with Leeds hoping to poach the Dutchman from their rivals in Sheffield.

The midfielder is now looking more and more likely to leave the Blades after Chris Wilder’s side failed to get promoted to the Premier League.

Leeds will battle Everton for Hamer as the 27-year-old will no doubt be weighing up his options.

But it’s become apparent that the Whites actually have a secret weapon in this deal, which they could utilise.

It was even more joy when the Leeds faithful saw Sheffield fail, as not only does it make for entertaining viewing, but Hamer is surely bound to leave.

The midfielder is a sought-after target and shows why Hamer was called ‘the best player in the Championship’, which is certainly not a controversial thing to say.

Hamer would instantly improve Daniel Farke’s fortunes in the top flight through his brilliant creativity, but also overall possession, which the German takes pride in with his style.

They’ll have to battle off competition for Hamer, whom Sheffield fans value at £40m, even though it’s looking like a £20m deal would get the transfer sorted.

Well, Leeds already have a secret inside weapon which could help this deal, and it’s courtesy of Jayden Bogle.

MailOnline reports that with the Blades resigned to losing the 27-year-old Dutch playmaker, it must be made clear that Hamer has the same agent as Bogle, who also made the move from Sheffield to Leeds.

This hands Leeds a key advantage with Bogle potentially encouraging his agent to bring his other client to Elland Road.

Hamer would be major upgrade for Leeds with current options

The only position that the Whites seem to be seriously lacking in is the number ten position, which has had question marks over it for a while.

Brenden Aaronson just hasn’t lived up to the billing, and the likelihood of him being a Premier League starter is low.

When you compare the Dutchman with Aaronson in the Premier League, Hamer trumps Aaronson’s stats.

To have a player who can create something out of nothing and score goals out of nothing is needed, and Hamer does that to a tee.

This trait will be relied upon with Leeds likely to be in a relegation scrap, and although Farke will know the deal won’t run smoothly, Bogle’s agent helps matters.
