Celtic are “open to offers” for five of their first-team players, according to a report.
Sky Sports News’ Anthony Joseph has suggested that Brendan Rodgers will be looking to move on a number of players this summer, following the end of the 2024/25 season for the club.
In the report, Joseph said that Luis Palma, Gustaf Lagerbielke, Stephen Welsh, Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Marco Tilio are all surplus to requirements, and that the club are “understood” to be willing to let these players go this summer on a permanent basis.
Four out of these five players were signed in Rodgers’ first transfer window since his return to the club in 2023, following the exit of Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham Hotspur.
Tilio has made only two appearances since his move from Melbourne City and finds himself back there on loan.
Kwon was signed alongside fellow South Korean Yang Hyun-jun, with the former Busan IPark yet to make his competitive debut for the club, having spent the last two seasons out on loan at St Mirren and Hibernian, respectively.
In total, he has made 31 appearances in his combined spells in Paisley and Edinburgh.
Following the departure of Carl Starfelt to Celta Vigo, Elfsborg defender Lagerbielke was signed as his replacement, though the Sweden international has only made 10 appearances since his arrival.
Like Kwon and Tilio, he has spent this season out on loan, impressing for Eredivisie side FC Twente, who are keen on signing the player permanently.
Despite being the most successful out of the four signings, Honduras international Palma is also currently out of the picture at Celtic.
Spending the second half of the season back in Greece with Olympiakos, he has managed one goal and one assist each, with his loan side opting not to sign the player outright. The winger has managed 20 goal contributions in 48 games since his August 2023 arrival from Aris FC.
Lastly, academy graduate Welsh looks set to leave Celtic after a fruitful spell at KV Mechelen in Belgium. He appeared 17 times for the Jupiler Pro League side, scoring one goal in his final appearance.
The 25-year-old has appeared for his parent club 68 times since his first-team debut back in 2020.
