Yesterday, Jesus’ agent appeared to have confirmed that Forest are close to a deal, with the player set to sign for the club after the Club World Cup, which gets underway this month.
Now, a very reputable transfer journalist, David Ornstein, has delivered an exciting update on Forest with things seemingly heating up on the transfer front.
The striker is 25-years-old and it will be fascinating to see what he’s capable of in the Premier League should the club get this deal over the line for him to move to the City Ground.
According to The Athletic, three new signings are getting close to completion, with all of the players coming to the City Ground from Brazilian champions Botafogo.
Jesus is the one that everyone expected to take place, but he’s going to be joined at the City Ground by left-back Cuiabano and central defender Jair Cunha, with things now heating up.
Given that Forest have needed a striker for a little while, it’s the Jesus deal that will take most of the intrigue and his arrival will be very welcome given that he was previously linked with Arsenal.

All three of the new recruits fit the profile of what Forest try to look towards in the transfer market these days, and it represents a very exciting time.
Cuiabano is a left-back, and having a natural left-footer on that side of the pitch would be ideal, regardless of how good Neco Williams has been over the last 12 months.
Cunha will hope to have a similar impact as Murillo at the heart of the back four, and he will add some strength in depth in that area of the pitch.
It’s Jesus that will capture the imagination of the fan base, however, given the need for a new striker to come in and the hope will be that he hits the ground running and helps out Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi.
As Ornstein says, this isn’t a done deal yet by any means, but the fact that it’s even being reported in the first place makes for very positive reading and hopefully, the three players can be at the club for the majority of pre-season.
