Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma saw his thunderous strike against Everton nominated for one of the Premier League’s more niche accolades, but he ultimately missed out.
Given how poorly Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League season unfolded, one would not expect any of their players to be in the running for any individual awards.
Tottenham finished 17th in the Premier League last campaign, losing 22 games across the 38-match season and averaging just a point per game, as the Lilywhites ended the 2024/25 season on a lowly 38 points.
Several players were inconsistent throughout the league campaign, including Yves Bissouma, who found himself slipping down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou due to a series of subpar performances.

However, the Malian midfielder did manage to receive some unexpected recognition, as his maiden strike of the Premier League season earned him a nomination for the league’s most powerful goal of the campaign.
The goal came during Tottenham’s first home fixture of the season – a 4-0 win over Everton back in August – and arrived just 14 minutes into the match.
Dejan Kulusevski cut the ball back to the edge of the area where Bissouma met it perfectly, crashing his effort in off the crossbar to open the scoring for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
