One experienced Tottenham man, who played a huge hand in the club’s march to Europa League glory is attracting interest from elsewhere in the Premier League.
While there has been a lot said and written about potential incomings at Hotspur Way this summer, there could also be many exits from Tottenham, particularly if the club decide to sack Ange Postecoglou and go in a different direction.
One man whose future is very much up in the air is Yves Bissouma, with the midfielder having just one year left on his current Tottenham contract.
A couple of months ago, some outlets treated it as a foregone conclusion that Tottenham would cash in on Bissouma, but the Mali international had a strong end to the season, playing an important role in the latter stages of the Europa League, including a starting role in the 1-0 win over Manchester United in Bilbao.
Yves Bissouma is attracting interest from Leeds United and Everton
Ange Postecoglou has sung Bissouma’s praises for the way he turned around his form at the end of the season, but there is still no suggestion that the 28-year-old is about to be offered a new contract by the Lilywhites.
Ben Jacobs believes that the former Brighton man could be out of the door at Spurs this summer, suggesting Leeds United as a possible destination for the midfielder.
When asked about Bissouma’s future, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “He wants to stay in the Premier League. I’m told Leeds are another one to watch. They’re looking to add another midfielder. It will all come down to finances and wages for them too.”
In a separate interview, Jacobs has also credited Everton with an interest in the Tottenham midfielder.
He said on his appearance on The Last Word Spurs on Monday: “Bissouma is aware of this volume of interest, even Everton, I’m told, could come into the mix because they’re going to be losing a couple of midfielders and also looking to strengthen in that area.”
Bissouma has a year left on his Tottenham contract
There appears to be no shortage of interest in the Tottenham midfielder, with some outlets previously suggesting that Aston Villa could make a move for Bissouma.
It was also claimed a little over a month ago that clubs from Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia have set their sights on Bissouma.
Should Tottenham decide to offload the midfielder, they will be hoping a bidding war will help drive up his price, however, expect Bissouma to have a big say on his next destination, given his contract situation.
