Celtic hero Joe Hart and England’s Thomas Tuchel send classy messages to Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham sacking

Celtic hero Ange Postecoglou’s sacking by Spurs has certainly grabbed the headlines this week.

Postecoglou must have thought he earned a third season at the Premier League club after winning the Europa League for Spurs just a few short weeks ago.

As it turns out, winning European silverware wasn’t enough to negate Tottenham’s poor performance in the league and Daniel Levy decided to end Postecoglou’s tenure at Spurs this week.

The reaction to the news has been in almost unanimous support for the former Celtic manager as pundits and ex-players lend their support to Postecoglou.

And next up is Celtic hero Joe Hart and England boss Thomas Tuchel.

Former Tottenham star and Celtic hero Joe Hart says Postecoglou ‘can hold his head high’

Hart enjoyed three years at Celtic with two of those under Ange Postecoglou as the former Tottenham goalkeeper restored the Bhoys as the top team in Scotland.

And speaking after the news Postecoglou was dismissed by the Premier League club, Hart says his old Celtic boss has nothing to be ashamed of.

Hart told TNT Sports, “I can see both sides of the argument, but I think it’s harsh. He’s delivered something nobody has been able to do in such a long time.

“It was a risky, risky tactic for him to stand there and say he’ll win a trophy, but it was absolutely huge for him to achieve it. I’m mega proud of what he’s done, and I think he should hold his head up high and if that’s how they want to treat him, then so be it.

“He walks away with a trophy and a medal around his neck at a club where other managers have struggled. He stepped up and won something within two seasons.”

England boss Thomas Tuchel’s ‘horrible’ reaction to Celtic hero Postecoglou’s Spurs news

Even England manager Thomas Tuchel couldn’t believe the news as he gave Postecoglou a special mention just before his big game against Andorra last night.

Tuchel told Sky Sports, “I feel for every manager, and I have huge sympathy for every manager, especially in these moments, because I was in the same spot, and it feels horrible if you’re in that spot.

“It just shows you that it is not only about titles, you can survive seasons without titles if your connection, the support and the belief and the trust between the coach and the club is strong, then you can overcome seasons without titles.

“If there is slight disbelief, if there are concerns, if the trust is not there anymore, obviously, then it is sometimes not even enough to win a trophy after so many years.

There is no doubt the former Celtic boss is a hugely popular figure at all levels in football and it won’t be long before Postecoglou is seen in the dugout once again.
