Newcastle United have now made an approach to Chelsea over signing one of their fringe players, according to a new report.
Newcastle announce Cordero and chase more forwards
It is expected to be a busy summer for the Magpies as they look to build their squad ahead of a campaign that will include Champions League football. The club have been linked with moves for Liam Delap and Bryan Mbeumo already this summer, but Delap has joined Chelsea, and the Brentford attacker appears set for a move to Manchester United.

Newcastle have contacted the agent of a young player who is also wanted by Liverpool.
However, it is not all bad news for Newcastle, as on Thursday morning they announced the signing of winger Antonio Cordero, who will join the club on the 1st of July following the expiry of his contract with Spanish side Malaga. The transfer is subject to the completion of the registration process with the Premier League, as well as obtaining a UK visa.
Despite being just 18, Cordero played 60 times for Malaga, during which he scored seven goals and recorded nine assists. His performances in Spain have now earned him a move to England and St James’ Park, where he labels it a “true honour” to be a Newcastle player.
Cordero told the club’s media team: “It’s truly an honour to be here, truly a pleasure. I am a person who likes to aspire high. Why not come to one of the best places in the world to do it.
“It’s a big step, and that’s one of the reasons I’m here. I’m happy to do it and have a great desire to get going already.”

As a deal for Cordero is now wrapped up, the Magpies are not wasting any time moving to the next target. According to Caught Offside, Newcastle have contacted Chelsea over the possibility of signing Noni Madueke this summer.
Noni Madueke for Chelsea
Caught Offside report that Madueke is regarded as a player as a big prospect, and at this moment it is unlikely that Chelsea will allow the winger to leave this summer. However, the Magpies have made an approach to assess if a deal is possible, while AC Milan are also keeping an eye on his situation.
Although the Blues are not looking to sell, it is reported that they could be willing to do a deal should they receive an offer in the €60 million region, which is roughly £50 million. However, Newcastle value Madueke more in the region of €40-42 million (£33-35 million), so it remains to be seen if they are willing to bridge that gap.
The England international, who was dubbed “unbelievable” by former Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino last season, played 32 times in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca, but given the players that are arriving at Stamford Bridge, Madueke could find himself down the pecking order, and a move away may become a viable option.
