Brighton and Hove Albion have rejected an official offer from Porto for midfielder Julio Enciso, but talks are ongoing about a move.
That’s according to journalist Andrés Rolón, who reports that Brighton have rejected Porto’s first offer for the 21-year-old.
He explains that while Brighton have rejected the official offer, negotiations for the Paraguayan are not over yet. There are at an ‘impasse’ at this moment in time.
The transfer currently depends on the two clubs reaching an agreement. Enciso has already agreed personal terms with the Portuguese giants.
Enciso’s future at Brighton has been the subject of debate given he spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town. All indications have been that the Seagulls do not consider a part of their long-term plans.
The midfielder has spoken about the matter too, admitting he was unsure what the future held as he was waiting for contact from Brighton.
Now it seems he is in Porto’s sights, although they need to make a better offer than their initial one if they are to get their man this summer.
