The list of Leeds United transfer targets continues to grow. There’s names from all corners of the globe being linked and among them are some really, really top players.
Recent reports have indicated that Leeds United have made a £22million bid to sign Habib Diarra from Strasbourg, whilst Udinese’s Jaka Bijol is a transfer target for Leeds United too.
Two potentially great signings for Daniel Farke, they might not have a patch on Douglas Luiz, who’s now being mentioned alongside a possible move to Elland Road.
Leeds United linked with former Aston Villa man Douglas Luiz
Recent reports have revealed how Leeds United are being offered the chance to sign Luiz, 27, from Juventus this summer, with the Brazilian looking as though he could leave the Turin club after just one season.
The midfielder has failed to impress following his £42million move from Aston Villa last summer, going on to feature just 19 times in Serie A without scoring or claiming an assist.
With Villa, Luiz asserted himself as one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Ahead of a proposed return to England, Leeds United and also Man United are being mentioned as possible destinations.
Leeds United fans react to Douglas Luiz transfer rumours
Following Joe Rothwell’s return to parent club Bournemouth, Farke is very light in the middle of the pitch, and so a new midfielder or two looks vitally important this summer.
And Luiz could be a real coup. Plenty of Leeds United fans have reacted to the rumours on social media, too. “Now that’s what I’m talking about,” said one, as another added: “This would be a statement signing if we managed to get him! He would walk straight into our team.”
Others think the potential signing might be too good to be true, though. “I don’t see it to be honest, but if it were to happen, what a statement,” said one Leeds United supporter. Another wrote: “That would be an insane signing. A statement signing. I’d be amazed if he didn’t go to a Champions League level club.”
A similar comment read: “This would be an amazing signing can’t see it happening think he will have a lot of options.”
This Leeds fan added: “I would definitely take him would be an excellent signing but highly unlikely in my opinion.”
The summer transfer window re-opens on June 16th.
