As Wolves make several structural changes in the recruitment department, a raft of players are heading for the exit door.
Sporting director Matt Hobbs left his role at Wolves, and coming in to replace him is reportedly Domenico Teti, who is poised to become a technical director.
Teti worked alongside Vitor Pereira at Al Shabab, with this decision handing the Portuguese manager further control over transfers.
Wolves fans are excited that the structural changes at Molineux have opened the door for super agent Jorge Mendes to have an involvement with transfers.
Mendes has the contacts in world football to bring some serious gems to the club, but first, the focus is on selling players who aren’t a part of the long-term project.
Vitor Pereira has told Hwang Hee-chan to leave Wolves on one condition
Wolves have seen Matheus Cunha seal his transfer to Manchester United and, most recently, Rayan Ait-Nouri join Manchester City.
The Old Gold have also waved goodbye to first-team players Craig Dawson and Pablo Sarabia, who came to the end of their contracts.
A busy summer of exits isn’t going to stop there, though, as forward Hwang Hee-chan is one of several players Pereira is looking to offload.
Hwang, who cost Wolves £14m in 2022, has only started four times under the Portuguese boss, while scoring just twice in 2024/25 after his 13-goal haul in the season before.

It appears the South Korean isn’t a part of the manager’s plans, and now, Pereira has admitted ‘it’s better for him [Hwang] to go’ as he can’t promise him a place in his starting lineup.
“He likes to feel important, he likes the group a lot, but he likes to play. He wants to play. He wants to be in the first XI,” Pereira told E&S.
“I cannot promise him the first XI. I just can promise that I will help him to compete for his position. If he feels that it’s better for him to go to another club, this is another scenario. With Hee-chan and with the others, I must have the same conversation.
“If they want to compete, or if they want to go to play, but I cannot guarantee that they will be in the first XI. I can’t. This is something that you must deserve. You must compete for your position. I don’t give gifts.”

Why Hwang doesn’t fit into Pereira’s plans
Hwang was ‘upset’ after the 2024/25 season didn’t go as planned, and since Gary O’Neil exited Molineux in December, his career has gone backwards.
As seen by Pereira banishing Dawson from first-team training earlier this year, the 56-year-old isn’t afraid to make the controversial decisions.
That is why he’s essentially given Hwang an ultimatum. He can either stay and fight for his position in the squad, which isn’t guaranteed, or he can seek regular minutes elsewhere.
The 29-year-old is a talented forward whose finishing talents have impressed. But with Jorgen Strand Larsen leading the line and Hwang not possessing the technical side to his game to play as a number 10, there is naturally no place for him in the system.
The South Korean would only benefit if Pereira incorporated two inside forwards, with his greatest strength running into channels and counter-attacking against teams.
