Everton are reportedly prioritising a move for Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker in the summer transfer window.
Ashley Young left the Toffees, leaving them with a full-back short ahead of the 2025/26.
This is the first major window for The Friedkin Group and they’re willing to spend money to strengthen the side.
Everton make Walker approach but no contact with Manchester City
According to Give Me Sport journalist Ben Jacobs (16 June), Everton have made their first move towards signing Walker.
They have made an approach on the 35-year-old’s side, perhaps with his representatives, to gauge if he is willing to move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium with the club no longer playing at Goodison Park.
Walker, who’s won the Champions League and multiple league titles with Manchester City, will be parting ways with them this summer.

While contact has been made by the Toffees, they have not yet touched base with the Citizens over the deal.
He has another year left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium and given his experience, City may look for a decent transfer fee.

Despite being 35, Kyle Walker’s experience and versatility make him a key addition under David Moyes.
His extensive time at Manchester City, Tottenham and with England brings leadership and Premier League know-how, strengthening the Everton defence.
Walker’s retained pace and sharp passing fit Moyes’ pragmatic, counter-attacking setup.
To get the best from him, Moyes should use Walker as an overlapping right-back to support wingers like Dwight McNeil, capitalising on his ability to deliver dangerous crosses.
