In just over a week, Wolves could be waving goodbye to right-back Nelson Semedo after five years and 182 appearances for the club.
The 31-year-old sees his contract expire on June 30, and then, he will be free to find another club as his Wolves future hangs in the balance.
When he spoke after Portugal’s Nations League win over Germany two weeks ago, Semedo said he needed ‘time’ to decide his Wolves future, despite the end of his deal at Molineux nearing.
Semedo has since been rejected by Marseille for requesting a big salary, while his former club Benfica also can’t afford his wages, as his next move appears to be money-motivated.
So, with it looking increasingly likely that he will be departing very soon, Vitor Pereira may have found a replacement for his captain.
Molineux News have said previously that Wolves should go all out to sign Kyle Walker-Peters, and now it appears the club have entered the race for his signature.
According to football.London, Wolves are considering signing Walker-Peters as a successor to Semedo at Molineux, with his contract at Southampton expiring this month.
The 28-year-old has suitors in Everton and former club Tottenham Hotspur, who are planning for life under new manager Thomas Frank.
Unfortunately, while interest in the Englishman is encouraging, the report claims that Walker-Peters would be ‘keen’ on a return to Tottenham this summer after leaving permanently five years ago.
With Spurs preparing for Champions League football after beating Manchester United in the Europa League final, signing for his boyhood club is naturally an appealing option.

Walker-Peters is the perfect Semedo replacement
Wolves would struggle to find anyone better in the market for a wing-back than Walker-Peters, especially on a free transfer.
Not only is he vastly experienced at Premier League level but he can also cover multiple positions, including at left wing-back or as a full-back in a flat back four.
He’s also brilliant at springing forward and joining attacks with his pace, while boasting enough defensive awareness to deal with opposition attackers.
Walker-Peters was a shining light during a dismal campaign for the Saints last term, too, after amassing two assists in 33 appearances.
Wolves would save millions by signing the Southampton phenom, though with his preference being a move to Spurs, a deal already looks difficult to get done.
