Celtic will face St Mirren on August 3, as Brendan Rodgers’ first away trip will be at Pittodrie against Scottish Cup final winners Aberdeen.
The talk has already started, as always, there is a lot of noise in Glasgow, as Celtic aim to continue their dominance, and Rangers look to stop it.
Those in green and white colours have won four in a row, including 14 out of the last 15 titles, and normal service is expected to resume again.
When the fixtures came out for the 2025/26 season, Ally McCoist shared his thoughts, including his former side being handed an away trip straight off the bat.

Speaking to talkSPORT, McCoist thinks the new calendar being dropped is ‘pretty exciting’ stuff, but he tried to aim a few digs at Celtic fan Alan Brazil.
The former Rangers striker claimed that Brazil is ‘shaking in his shoes’, and stated that ‘nothing surprises’ him regarding new Gers boss Russell Martin having to start his tenure on the road against Motherwell.
But Brazil swiftly told his fellow pundit to ‘get on your bike’.
“I have just got the SPFL fixtures through there,” said McCoist. “Pretty exciting stuff. Big Al (Alan Brazil) is shaking in his shoes, let me tell you.
“Celtic kicking off (against St Mirren). Rangers have a tough one, straight away at Motherwell, nothing surprising there.
“Equally, not an easy game at home to St Mirren, I have got to say, then a tough fixture for Celtic the following up at Aberdeen, which is certainly a very, very difficult place to go in normal circumstances.
“Then, I think the big one, the one we have all been waiting for, is the fourth game into the season. The first Glasgow derby fixture, where we will find out a lot, I reckon, about both teams and how their league campaign is going to go.”

Of course, Celtic will be clear favourites to win another title, and even possibly a Treble after missing out on that honour by the skin of their teeth last season.
But who has the toughest start from the 12 teams locking horns in Scotland’s top tier?
As posted by BBC Sport, Opta Sport think that St Mirren – Celtic’s opening game – have the hardest start to the new season (first four games) because it includes the champions, Rangers and Hibernian away.
Celtic are in the middle – seventh to be exact – as Opta have rated their difficulty rating at 74.8 compared to St Mirren’s 79.9.
The team deemed to have the easiest start is Hibs, only one top-half team features in their opening four matches, and they have been provided with a difficulty rating of 70.3.
