Alasdair Gold has now revealed what he expects to happen with Manor Solomon this summer, amidst reports that Thomas Frank is prepared to give the 25-year-old a chance to resurrect his Tottenham career.
It was widely reported that Leeds would make a permanent move for Solomon ahead of their Premier League campaign after the winger scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists to help the Yorkshire club secure the Championship title.
It is not just Leeds who are looking to sign the Spurs winger, with reports indicating that Scott Parker wants to take Solomon to Burnley as the former Tottenham midfielder looks to add Premier League experience to the Clarets squad.
However, several outlets have claimed recently that Thomas Frank is prepared to hand Solomon a chance to impress in pre-season.
Alasdair Gold does not expect Manor Solomon to stay at Tottenham
However, despite reports to the contrary over recent weeks, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold expects the Israeli winger to accompany Bryan Gil out of the door this summer as Tottenham undertake a rebuild.
The journalist pointed out that it is due to the expected departure of the pair that Frank is prioritising adding wide players to his Spurs squad this summer.
Gold explained that the Dane ideally wants a wide forward who can also play as a central striker.
He wrote: “Bryan Gil and Manor Solomon are likely to move on this summer. One of the priorities is a wide player who can also play through the middle.
“Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Antoine Semenyo all tick that box with the former and latter both expected to be pushing towards the £70 million price mark and Wissa less because he’s got just a year left on his contract.”
Tottenham may also have to replace Heung-min Son
The departure of Solomon and Gil will not affect Spurs too much, given that neither player was part of the Tottenham squad last season.
However, Heung-min Son’s departure now looks increasingly likely this summer, and the Lilywhites would have to sign a top-class forward to replace the Spurs captain’s goals and assists.
The likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo would come with plenty of Premier League experience under their belt and could thus be expected to hit the ground running at N17.
