Bryan Gil’s future continues to be the subject of much speculation back in Spain, with a new report explaining why one La Liga side will wait for one more week before making a move for the Tottenham winger.
Like many of his Tottenham teammates, the 24-year-old has just a year left in his contract, and a departure from Spurs seems inevitable for Gil this summer.
The Spaniard has not played for Tottenham Hotspur in over a year, having spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Girona, but his campaign came to an early end after suffering an injury in March.
According to reports, Girona are now unlikely to activate their €15m (£12.5m) option to buy Gil, and now another La Liga side are ready to pounce on the Spurs star.
Valencia enter the race for Bryan Gil as Girona dither
According to a report in OrgulloBiri (as relayed by Sport Witness) Girona are still ‘dithering’ over their purchase clause on the Tottenham winger and are not showing any signs of activating it at the moment.
It is revealed that the Catalan club’s option to buy Gil expires on June 30 and it is suggested that the club could try to get the winger on a discount.
However, they now face competition for the Spain international, with Valencia now considering taking the winger back to Mestalla, following his loan spell at the club back in 2022.
The report claims that Los Che will wait until Girona’s option to buy Gil expires before entering into negotiations with Spurs.
Gil is also attracting interest from outside Spain
It is not just Valencia and Girona who want the former Sevilla man, who is also attracting interest from around Europe and the Middle East.
Some sources suggested last month that Gil is wanted by Saudi Pro League clubs, who may be prepared to blow the Spanish clubs out of the water with ‘dizzying offers’.
Meanwhile, AS claimed two weeks ago that Olympiacos are one of many European clubs who have Gil on their radar.
