Jarrad Branthwaite Accepts New Everton Contract in David Moyes Project
Contract Valid Until 2030
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Branthwaite is “set to accept Everton’s proposal and sign a new deal at the club”. This new contract will be valid until 2030. The journalist disclosed earlier that this new deal will give Branthwaite an improved salary.
The Athletic understands that after last summer, the club had conceded that they would have to sell their “darling on the terraces” when the right offer came in. However, new owners The Friedkin Group came in and told suitors that he was not for sale.
In 2024, Manchester United had great interest in the 23-year-old; the Red Devils had two proposals rejected. The Blues valued their man at £75 million and United had no intention to pay that high of a fee, instead going and getting Leny Yoro for around £50 million.
Jarrad Branthwaite Key to David Moyes Project
After finishing ten points clear of 17th-place Tottenham Hotspur, Everton will be looking to build on their 13th-place finish and push for top-half next season. Branthwaite will be a key part of this, with Moyes’ defence their biggest strength. Critics have suggested this is linked to a boring style of football, but their playstyle has been much more progressive and enjoyable to watch than under Dyche, whilst simultaneously conceding the fourth-fewest goals.
Keeping consistency across the backline could be crucial to improving results, and with key players like Jordan Pickford and James Tarkowski set to stay, adding Branthwaite to the mix will surely lead to stability. If Everton can bring in a new, exciting attacking reinforcement to play alongside Iliman Ndiaye, they could be set for a great season.
