Iraola will leave Bournemouth when his contract expires at the end of June, a decision he says was not motivated by the prospect of managing another Premier League club amid mounting speculation.
“I don’t know what I want to do next season. I don’t know if I am going to coach a team, a club. I don’t know if I am going to coach an international team. I don’t know if I am going to coach in this continent. I have no idea what is going to happen.”That being said, Iraola continues to be linked with a Premier League switch, with two teams in particular â Manchester United and Chelsea â being mentioned for weeks.
United have secured Champions League football under interim Michael Carrick, who has won 10 and drawn three of his 15 games so far, and it appears the former midfielder could be in line for a permanent appointment.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are on the lookout for a new manager after they decided to part ways with Liam Rosenior.
Xabi Alonso and Marco Silva are believed to be on the club’s shortlist alongside Oliver Glasner and Iraola, with the above report also claiming that the Blues have met with the current Bournemouth boss to talk to him about the role.
Fabregas has also been suggested as a potential Chelsea boss, having impressed at Serie A club Como. However, the former midfielder has suggested he’s in no rush to leave his current role in Italy.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Fabregas said: âThe Premier League is the best league in the world. Iâve always been very, very clear about it. I felt it as a player, I feel it as a coach, as a fan.
“But [JosĂŠ] Mourinho told me one day when I was at Chelsea âI still have 30 years to workâ. So I could be here [Como] for 10 years, and you can still go to the Premier League in 12, 15 years.
âFootball is so unpredictable, it changes in one second. One day, you are the best. The day after, you are the worst. So letâs enjoy the moment. I like to enjoy the moment. Itâs beautiful what we are living here. Letâs see what the future holds.â
Fabregas suggested he will âof courseâ return to the Premier League as a coach one day, but admitted he didn’t feel any need to leave the âbeautifulâ project he has helped build at Como.
