Five changes, £26m star dropped: David Moyes’ first predicted Everton XI to face Aston Villa
There is only one story stealing the headlines for this game, with David Moyes making his return to Everton as Sean Dyche’s replacement.
Moyes has already demanded two Everton signings in his first few days back at the club.
However, Everton will be going into the game on Merseyside on Wednesday with the exact same side which Dyche ended his tenure with.
With the 60-year-old replacing Dyche, there will be a number of players eyeing the game against Villa as an opportunity to turn the page at Goodison.
And with that, here is Everton News’ attempt at selecting Moyes’ first starting XI.
Jesper Lindstrom eyeing fresh Everton opportunity
Everton are struggling massively going forward having only found the back of the net 15 times in the Premier League.
Jesper Lindstrom is not exactly in the camp of Jake O’Brien who was outcasted by Dyche, but he has only started seven times in the league.
Since his appointment, Moyes has spoken privately with Lindstrom at Finch Farm, which could suggest the Everton boss has the Dane in his plans.
With Jack Harrison failing to impress Everton fans this season the right-wing spot is crying out for a player to go and claim it.
David Moyes will want to revitalise Dominic Calvert-Lewin
It has been another underwhelming campaign for Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has only been able to find the back of the net twice.
Perhaps his contract situation is playing some role in his form as Calvert-Lewin’s Everton future remains in doubt.
But injuries to Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti, Moyes’ options are extremely limited up top.
Beto, who joined for £26m, remains of interest to Serie A sides this month and with Calvert-Lewin returning to training, he is the man who has been the regular up front this season.
Nathan Patterson shone in FA Cup victory
Right-back is a position which has seen Ashley Young impress considerably this season despite being 39 years of age.
However, Dyche outcast Nathan Patterson was given the nod last week in the FA Cup victory over Peterborough United.

Moyes will know what he would get from selecting Young, but he will be all too aware of the attacking threat which his compatriot offered on Thursday.
It would be a big call considering Patterson wanted to leave Everton this month.
