Everton are still working to reach an agreement to sign Ernest Nuamah from Lyon despite a deal stalling, says Fabrizio Romano.
The Toffees had previously agreed to a deal worth over £16.9million for the 21-year-old winger [Fabrice Hawkins], but no progress has been made.
Now it appears that a deal for the Ghana international could be on the rocks [Alan Myers] but Romano has reported to GIVEMESPORT (21 January) that talks are ongoing over a potential Merseyside move.
He said: “The deal is stalling. But from what I’m hearing, they’re still there, still trying to reach an agreement with the player’s side.
“With Olympique Lyon, it’s quite easy because of the financial situation, so Everton understands that the player could leave. Let’s see what happens on the player’s side in the next days.”

It appears that a new wide option is wanted in L4 before the end of the winter window with the Lyon man the most heavily linked.
Given his young age and experience in a top European league, there are reasons why the Toffees have shown an interest in the winger.
It has to be said that his goal involvement tally of zero this campaign must be a cause for concern at Goodison, especially with a lack of threat from outwide as it is.
Regardless, it seems that David Moyes and Co. see the former Nordsjælland youngster as one for the future and a potential solution to their problems.

As a result, a deal with Lyon isn’t being given up on yet, especially with just less than two weeks remaining of the transfer season.
It will certainly be interesting to see how this transfer saga plays out and whether the Toffees get their man before the window slams shut.
