After it emerged last week that a clause in Harry Kane’s contract allows him to leave Bayern in the summer for a cut-price fee, the former Tottenham striker has now been directly quizzed about the development.
Kane is continuing to break all sorts of goalscoring records at Bayern Munich, and after falling short last season, the striker looks set to fire Vincent Kompany’s men to the Bundesliga title this year. That would be the first major trophy of Harry Kane’s career.
However, over the last week, there has been speculation over the former Tottenham man’s future after it emerged that he can leave the German club for just £54m in the summer if he decides to seek a fresh challenge.
This development will undoubtedly interest a number of clubs across the Premier League, not least Spurs, who have a first refusal on Kane.
Kane is no stranger to seeing his future as the subject of much speculation in the British press, having been regularly linked away from a move to N17 during his time at Tottenham.
The striker has now directly responded to the things that have been written over recent days regarding a potential Bayern exit in the summer, but he refused to comment on the release clause.
The 31-year-old said (via The Sun): “What I can say is that I’m very happy at FC Bayern. No comment on the clause.”
