Kieran Trippier drops a stunning message for Newcastle ahead of exit talk

Kieran Trippier has made a sudden U-turn, abandoning his plans to leave Newcastle United. The Newcastle United defender had been linked with a transfer to Turkish club Galatasaray, which was searching for a right-back.

Galatasaray had the advantage of the Turkish transfer window remaining open beyond the February 11th deadline. However, with the window now closed, Trippier remains a Newcastle United player.

Galatasaray did submit an offer for Trippier, reportedly worth £2.5 million plus add-ons, but it was rejected. According to TalkSPORT, Trippier’s decision to stay at Newcastle was influenced by the club’s upcoming Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe had expressed his desire to retain Trippier, and the club’s decision to reject Galatasaray’s offer has ensured the defender will remain at St James’ Park.

Trippier will now focus on securing a starting position in the team, following his impressive performance against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final. His experience was evident in the match, earning praise from Alan Shearer.

Although Trippier’s future will be reassessed in the summer, his decision to stay at Newcastle United is a significant boost to the club. With his contract set to expire in 2026, Trippier will enter the final year of his deal.

Given Galatasaray’s recent offer, it appears Trippier’s value may not be as high as expected. Nevertheless, Newcastle United’s decision to keep him will hopefully yield positive results in the short term.
