It has been quite the turnaround on Merseyside, with Everton going from relegation battlers to Premier League flyers under David Moyes.

The 61-year-old is just one of the big changes at Goodison Park following the Friedkins’ takeover back in December.

Although there are still reminders like PSR, Everton feel like a club who have put their recent struggles behind them.

Everton are set to move into their new stadium over the summer in what is going to be the next chapter for the club.

The new owners on Merseyside are making some significant changes both on and off the pitch.

And there is one change which former manager Sean Dyche may not be keen on after what he implemented at the club.

Sean Dyche may disapprove of James Tarkowski’s Everton excitement

Over recent days, Dyche has poked fun at his Everton exit with the Toffees flying in the league since moving on.

The decision from the Friedkins in the early stages of their ownership appears to have been a masterstroke.

Speaking to the Everton website, James Tarkowski has been speaking of his excitement ahead of this summer’s pre-season tour of the United States.

Last summer, Dyche infamously banned any plans of a foreign pre-season, with Everton only going as far as the Republic of Ireland for a game against Sligo Rovers.

“My last trip to America was my first pre-season with the Club. That was a really good trip for me personally because it gave me a good chance to bond with new teammates and staff here. They are always really helpful in that sense,” he said.

“These trips are obviously really important for physical preparations ahead of the Premier League season as well.

“We’re obviously going to be playing against teams we’re actually going to face in the season, with it being a Premier League series, so facing Bournemouth, West Ham and Man United is a really good opportunity for us to get ready.”

A bizarre decision, which didn’t really pay off considering the dreadful start to the campaign Everton made under the 53-year-old.

Everton will receive PSR boost from USA trip

Not only did Dyche have Everton playing weak opposition last summer, but he also had the club missing out on financial gains.

Everton have been hit hard by PSR over recent years, and refusing to go on a lucrative pre-season tour feels like a major own goal.

This is something which TFG have immediately put right as the American billionaire puts plans in place to get the club back firing on all cylinders.

There were some baffling decisions made by Dyche, and this was certainly one of them.
