Paul Merson predicts Everton to beat West Ham United

Writing in his Sportskeeda column, Paul Merson has backed David Moyes to get one over his former club this weekend.

“Everton have been absolutely amazing under David Moyes,” Merson wrote.

“He has finally got them playing football! Even when Everton drew against Manchester United, they were still the better team for most parts of that game. It’s not like Everton are getting smash and grab wins, they are putting in genuinely good performances.

“I do think West Ham are a better team away from home. When they are not under pressure in front of their own fans, the Hammers tend to do well. But I don’t think we’ll be seeing any of that at Goodison Park on Saturday! I’m backing Everton to secure maximum points and a clean sheet.”

Merson predicted a 2-0 win for Moyes’ men.

Everton’s last five meetings against West Ham United

Everton picked up a point away at West Ham in the reverse fixture, however, neither Moyes nor Graham Potter were on the touchline.

The last five meetings have produced very contrasting results, with both sides winning two, drawing one and losing two.
