Tottenham Hotspur have quietly identified a man they believe can take them all the way to the Premier League title – and it’s not Ange Postecoglou.
Given Ange Postecoglou’s struggles this season, it’s hardly a shock to see reports swirling around about a potential managerial change. Performances have dipped, results have been patchy, and the pressure is starting to show.
It’s become quite clear that if Postecoglou is to stand any chance of keeping his job into next season, he’ll likely need to deliver the Europa League – anything less, and the writing could be on the wall.
And while the Australian will be hoping to turn things around, Tottenham are already putting plans in place.
Several names have been mentioned as possible replacements for Ange Postecoglou, and the club are understood to be actively assessing options in and outside the Premier League.
Among the domestic candidates being looked at, Marco Silva, Thomas Frank and Andoni Iraola are all said to be in the frame. However, it’s Andoni Iraola who appears to be leading the pack in Tottenham’s thinking.
Tottenham believe Andoni Iraola could lead them to Premier League glory
Postecoglou managed to stop the rot with a much-needed win in his last league outing, easing past already-relegated Southampton 3-1.
