Everton have issued a lifetime ban to one of their fans at the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium before it’s even opened after his behaviour at a test event recently. The Toffees are set to leave Goodison Park at the end of this season, bringing an end to their 132-year stint calling the venue home.
The Premier League club first moved into Goodison Park in 1892, shortly after the stadium was built and they’ve remained there since. In the 2010s, though, it was revealed that they would be leaving the ground for a brand-new stadium located at the Bramley-Moore Dock. It was initially planned for Goodison Park to be demolished once the club left, but that is no longer the case.
The arrival of a brand-new, state-of-the-art stadium is an exciting new venture for Everton and represents what should be a promising future for David Moyes’ side. One fan won’t be able to watch it all unfold up close, though, as he has been issued a lifetime ban and had his club membership revoked for his behaviour at a test event and the Toffees have even released a statement.

He filled himself committing the act
During a test event at Everton’s new stadium, one fan decided to try his luck and proceeded to still some food during his visit at the venue. Not only that, but he filmed himself committing the act and it wasn’t long before the footage surfaced on social media. In the video, a 62-year-old man ordered food from one of the stands in the Bramley-Moore Dock venue and once the server turned to make him a coffee, he was heard yelling: “Adios, amigo. Well, the first man to officially do a Toby [slang for theft] at Bramley-Moore Dock,” before walking away with his chicken strips, worth £12.50, without paying for them.
Everton have since confirmed that the supporter has been hit with a lifetime ban from the stadium before it’s even opened and his membership with the club has been revoked. The video was taken during the stadium’s first trial event, with 10,000 Everton fans invited to watch the club played Wigan in an under-18s friendly.
The club then released a statement about the incident and, via quotes from the Daily Mail, they said:
“Following enquiries into a social media clip showing clear theft of food during the first test event at Everton Stadium (February 17, 2025), a 62-year-old male from the Rainhill area was identified as being responsible. The matter was referred to Merseyside Police and the individual has been dealt with by means of an out-of-court disposal. As part of this resolution, he has agreed to make a donation equivalent to the cost of the stolen items (£12.75) to Everton in the Community.
“In line with the Club’s zero-tolerance approach to such behaviour, the individual has also been issued with an indefinite ban from Everton Football Club and his seasonal membership has been revoked. The Club will continue to work with local authorities and event staff to ensure that all visitors to Everton Stadium can enjoy a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.”
