Supporters have been reacting to the naming rights deal that sees Everton’s future home known as Hill Dickinson Stadium with immediate effect
Fans have been reacting online to news that Everton’s future home will be known as Hill Dickinson Stadium with immediate effect following what the club describe as one of the largest naming rights deals in Europe. The Blues have not disclosed either the length of the contract or valuation of the agreement but the after striking a deal with the 215-year-old Liverpool-based law firm that operates across Europe and Asia, new chief executive Angus Kinnear said: “This partnership goes beyond branding — it’s a shared commitment to progress, excellence and the regeneration of our city.”
Initially, there was plenty of surprise and even mockery of the announcement – although it must be stressed that a lot of the latter came from non-Evertonians – but as football followers digested the new name for the 52,888 capacity development on the Mersey waterfront, many leapt to the defence of both the club and their naming rights partner. @Id1878 It’s not the best name but to Evertonians, I think we will always refer to it as Bramley Moore Dock anyway. As long as it puts proper £ into the club that enables us to start buying a better calibre of player then for me that’s all that matters. Cash is king in the modern day.

But as long as the deal is the BEST thing for EFC going forward, & they ARE rooted in the city (I’ve known the name throughout my working life), then we have to trust TFG. It’ll always be BMD anyway!

@gfarr92 I personally couldn’t care less what the stadium is called as long as the deal is a good one which it sounds like it is going to be. Good to get it done before start of the season.

@Scousericey Please stop all the negativity. This is a company with a great history in Liverpool that wants to partnership with this great club. Of course we can call it what we like, most likely Bramley or BMD but we need to catch up on investment and these new owners aren’t wasting any time looking for it. Like the season tickets and food, expect other items to get more costly too. We can’t have it all ways.
