West Ham don’t like Tottenham Hotspur and the feeling is mutual.
Both managers go into the game knowing they will be under pressure if they lose.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is facing questions as to whether his unique style can really bring success to a club whose last trophy was the League Cup in 2008.
West Ham won a major trophy just last year.
So the questions surrounding new Hammers head coach Julen Lopetegui centre around whether he can sustain recent progress and success while playing more attractive football.
West Ham will leapfrog Tottenham in the Premier League table with a win.
TNT Sports disrespected the Hammers with a promo video which belittled them and even showed a Spurs player edited to kick their European trophy ahead of the Premier League clash.
It opens with James Maddison asking ‘West Ham?’ in a condescending manner.
The clip shows Joe Cole famously saying Spurs ‘don’t win trophies and are not a big club’.
And TNT Sports then decided to edit footage of Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven booting away West Ham’s European trophy.
One graphic then shows dozens of Tottenham stickers saying ‘West Ham who?’.
The video backfired spectacularly, though.
The disrespectful tone of the promo was not lost on angry West Ham fans.
But it only served to make Tottenham ‘look even more Spursy’ according to public reaction.
Tellingly, the video has since been deleted by TNT.
