West Ham United manager David Moyes is being lined up for a return to his former club, but this time an Everton reunion is said to be on the cards.
David Moyes enjoyed real success during his time in charge of West Ham, just like he did during his 11-year spell at Everton.
The 61-year-old Scot led the Hammers to our first trophy in 43 years by winning the Europa Conference League in 2023.
However, things went downhill from the start of 2024, after Moyes had a new contract offer taken away from himby David Sullivan due to West Ham’s horrendous run of form.
The experienced Scot was then moved on from the London Stadium at the end of last season, with Julen Lopetegui coming in to replace him.
Annoyingly, the Hammers have actually regressed this season, but that’s more to do with Lopetegui’s ineptness, rather than Moyes’s brilliance.
However, it’s hard to knock what he did for us over his four-and-a-half year spell at the club.
The one thing with the Scot is that he has a track record of coming into underperforming clubs and elevating them to consistent European contenders.
That’s probably why Everton are looking at him…

The Scot could be set for a return to Premier League management, six months after he left the Hammers.
Sean Dyche is in real trouble right now, with Everton sitting just three points clear of the relegation zone.
The Toffees have some truly horrendous fixtures on the horizon as well.
And if there is a change in the managerial department at Everton, a very familiar face could well return to the dugout.
According to a report from The Sun, Moyes is a ‘serious contender’ for the Everton job.
Businessman Dan Friedkin is in the process of completing his takeover from Farhad Moshiri, and his first pick to replace Sean Dyche is said to be Moyes.
Considering Everton’s current problems, Moyes would actually be perfect for them in my opinion.
I say this with a wry smile actually – he’d take them to another level.
That’s not to say I wish he was still at West Ham. I accept that he did great things for us but understand that he had reached his potential at the London Stadium at the same time – the two things are not mutually exclusive.

The 61-year-old’s time in the sun at West Ham was over in May.
I actually think he should have left the club on a real high after we lifted the Europa Conference League trophy in Prague in 2023.
He would have real legendary status now amongst the fans if he had done that.
Moyes outstayed his welcome, and his final five months in charge of the Hammers became toxic.
However, it’s impossible to argue that he didn’t leave us in a better state than the one we were in when he took over in December 2019.
David Moyes moved the needle at West Ham, and transformed us into consistent top seven Premier League side.
However, he reached his ceiling, and it was time for a change. It’s just unfortunate that the Hammers owners settled on Julen Lopetegui as his replacement.
Now it seems like Moyes could be set for a return to Everton, and I have no doubts that he will oversee real improvements at Goodison Park, if he does indeed get the job.
That said, I will be very relieved if he gets the Everton job.
As good as he was for West Ham in general, the last thing we need is for the Scot to return to the London Stadium for a third stint in charge.
That would be a real backward step.
