Harrison Armstrong is unlikely to feature in the next Everton game when they take on Aston Villa.

While he could be in the team for the FA Cup clash against Peterborough on 9 January as Sean Dyche may look to rest his first-team players, he’s not expected to play any minutes against Villa on 15 January at Goodison Park.

He came off the bench against Bournemouth on 4 January and had a game worth forgetting as he struggled to keep up with the tempo with his side losing 1-0.

Playing Peterborough at Goodison Park should be an ideal setting for Armstrong to get more accustomed to senior football.

However, the 17-year-old still does not seem ready for the Premier League as he struggled to find his teammates on Saturday.

According to Sofascore, despite coming on at half-time, he could only complete five out of his 10 attempted passes with an accuracy of 50 per cent.

Only one of his three long balls reached their desired target and that’s something that will improve in the due course.

He also lost both his aerial duels and missed a big chance in front of goal.

While it’s encouraging to see him getting into those positions, it’s the all-round play that will worry Dyche as he desperately needs to get a tune out of this side.
