Ange Postecoglou continues to wrangle with a long list of unavailable players as he tries to get Tottenham’s Europa League campaign back to winning ways at Rangers on Thursday evening.
Injury-hit Spurs are in Glasgow looking for a spark to reignite their season and Postecoglou is back in the city where he won five trophies in two seasons with Celtic. Now he will be looking to get one over on his old rivals with a big European match under the Ibrox lights.
He will have to do so without Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, who returned for Sunday’s 4-3 defeat Chelsea only to pick up new injuries, meaning the central defensive duo re-join an absence list of players that already includes Guglielmo Vicario, Richarlison, Wilson Odobert, Ben Davies and Mikey Moore.
Yves Bissouma is suspended from Spurs’ next Premier League match against Southampton on Sunday after collecting his fifth yellow card against Chelsea, so could be used against Rangers with that in mind, while Rodrigo Bentancur’s domestic ban does not extend to Europa League games so the Uruguayan can come back into contention.
Here’s the Tottenham team we reckon Postecoglou will go for to face Rangers on Thursday night at Ibrox.
