Tottenham are looking to strengthen their depth in attacking areas after striker Dominic Solanke suffered a knee injury ahead of Spurs’ 3-2 defeat to Everton this past weekend meaning he was forced to miss the game.
Since his injury was reported, it now seems as though Solanke could miss an extended period of time up to a month, which comes as a big blow for Ange Postecoglou, who could be without up to 11 players in their next match against Hoffenheim in the Europa League.
Spurs had previously been linked to signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, who now looks set to sign for Serie A side Juventus this month rather than moving to North London.
Tottenham linked to move for Ipswich Town star Liam Delap
Recent reports have emerged suggesting that Postecoglou could make a move for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, who signed for the Tractor Boys for £20m from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
City did include a buy-back clause in his contract, pricing a sale back to the Etihad at £30m, however they have since said that they don’t intend to bring Delap back, despite his impressive form for Ipswich.
The 21-year-old has scored eight goals in 21 Premier League games for Kieran McKenna’s side this season, helping them fight against relegation back to the Championship.
According to TeamTalk, Tottenham are considering making a move for Delap this month as they are desperate to add a striker to their ranks, considering the injury to Solanke, and their recent poor form under Postecoglou.
They will rival Chelsea to sign the attacker, as the Blues have been linked with Delap for several months now. They are also looking to add a striker amid reports that Christopher Nkunku could be on his way out to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich this month.
The report suggests that Ipswich will demand a fee of at least £40m for Delap, which Spurs, considering their very strong PSR position, are more than capable of being able to afford. It will more come down to how highly Spurs value the 21-year-old striker.
