It is just over a month into the season but a lot of things are going on at Leeds United. Fans feel the club are in a positive position, with their last two results pushing them to midtable.
After the loss to Fulham, the Whites have bounced back with a win over Wolves and a draw with Bournemouth. Over the past few weeks, Daniel Farke has introduced Illan Meslier back into the squad as Lucas Perri recovers from injury.
Once deemed out of the plans for this season, the Frenchman has been named in the last few squads in the Premier League. His future however, is still very much up in the air.

Even after the transfer window closed in England, multiple clubs have been keeping their eye on the Leeds United goalkeeper. Most recently, Inter Milan have shown serious interest in signing him to succeed their current number one. As the January transfer window approaches, teams are expected to attempt to move for the Frenchman.
Football Insider believe that Meslier is in no rush over his future as he holds all the cards:
I think there’ll obviously be speculation about him, as you said, he’s not in the plans of Daniel Farke anymore.
“…Meslier is in a good position because he’s out of contract next summer and he can leave for free or he can agree a pre-contract in January.
“So, he can decide his own future right now due to his contract situation. I’m sure Leeds would love to try and sell them in January and get some money for them. But I don’t think the player will be rushing into anything just then as well.”
In January, the keeper is allowed to hold talks with other clubs over a pre-contract as his current deal expires in the summer of 2026.
Getafe talks with Patrick Bamford on hold
It was reported over a week ago that Patrick Bamford was a serious target for Getafe as they considered striking options for their team. But since then, it seems the deal has slowed down. The head coach refused to directly confirm or deny the speculation of a deal.
Mateo Moretto is now reporting that negotiations between Bamford and the Spanish club have stalled. A decision however, could be made in the coming days:
“The possibility of Patrick Bamford signing for Getafe remains on the table.” he posted on X.
Negotiations have slowed down in recent days because Getafe has taken its time to decide whether to close the deal or not, but in the coming days the final decision will be made.”
