Alexander Isak has swerved another question about his controversial Newcastle United exit.
Former Newcastle United talisman Alexander Isak has refused to reflect on his actions over the summer transfer window.
Previously adored by the Toon faithful, Isak is now considered persona non grata at St James’ Park. The Swede downed tools – refusing to train or play – to force through a move to Liverpool.
His antics derailed Newcastle’s pre-season and start to the Premier League campaign. Ultimately, Isak got his move on deadline day for a British record £130million.

Isak has just one goal from eight Premier League appearances – hardly justification for his hefty price tag. Overall, the ex-Toon favourite has two strikes in 13 games across all competitions.
Refusing to train at the Magpies has directly impacted Isak’s fitness on Merseyside. Newcastle fans have enjoyed hate-watching the 26-year-old’s demise as he proves the grass is not always greener.
‘I expect more’ – Alexander Isak
When asked about the summer, Isak swerved the question in another middle finger to Newcastle fans. He told Sky Sports: “I don’t really reflect on it (the summer) that much. It is in the past, my focus is here. It is best to just stay in the moment. I expect to do much more, of course.
“As a footballer, you want to be in that flow and play in every game and train every training session. Even when I do really well, I want more. So that’s not a problem for me. I’m just trying to stay positive, trying to work to do better. That’s what I’m looking to do.
“Obviously, I’m the first one to know, and I know best, when I’m doing good and when I’m not doing good. I don’t need anyone to tell me how I’m doing. That’s not a problem for me.”
‘Relationship changed’ – Eddie Howe
Eddie Howe confirmed his relationship with Isak became strained once he refused to represent the club. The Toon boss said: “Alex and I always enjoyed a great relationship. I loved working with him. I hope he enjoyed working with us.
“It was mutually beneficial. We helped him become the player he in part is today and he helped us as a team achieve some unbelievable milestones and was part of a very successful team. The moment he went on strike our relationship did change and that was probably a turning point in our relationship.”
