Leeds United are in the picture to sign Barcelona’s Roony Bardghji this summer.
The Premier League side are looking at Spain to improve their attack. Earlier this month, Sport Witness relayed news of Leeds United, Fulham and Sunderland’s interest in Sevilla winger Chidera Ejuke.
Besides Ejuke, Leeds United have also included the Barcelona player in their list.
The Sweden international arrived at the Camp Nou from FC Copenhagen in July 2025 and has had to settle for a limited role.
His preferred position is on the right wing and he’s behind Barcelona star Lamine Yamal in the pecking order.
Bardghji finished his debut season with 872 minutes from 28 matches, managing two goals and four assists. His situation won’t improve next season mainly because of Yamal’s presence.
Encouragement for Leeds United
Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo has a report titled; ‘Operation exit’. Barcelona have sold Iñaki Peña to Panathinaikos and are finalising Ansu Fati’s sale to AS Monaco.
Goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen could be on his way to Ajax, while the La Liga winners are also working on selling Marc Casadó for €20-30m.
Roony Bardghji is ‘expected to leave’. Barcelona seem to be aware of Premier League interest in the 20-year-old Swede.
As of now, there are no concrete bids on the table.
Therefore, the ‘most likely scenario’ for Swede is to go out on loan this summer. Daniel Farke’s side or another club can take advantage of this.
Our take: Leeds United move may not benefit Bardghji
The Whites are edging closer towards signing Fulham’s Harry Wilson on a free transfer.
He mainly operates on the right wing and is likely to be the first choice for Daniel Farke next season.
Therefore, if Leeds United were to sign Roony Bardghji on loan, he will be behind Wilson in the pecking order.
