There is only one other side in the Premier League – Southampton – who have scored fewer than Everton’s return of 15 goals this season.
Aston Villa’s Jaden Philogene was targeted by Everton this month, but the youngster looks set to move elsewhere.
And the reasoning behind his decision should speak volumes to The Friedkin Group.

Jaden Philogene chooses to join Ipswich over Everton
Everton have held a longstanding interest in Philogene with the Toffees eyeing the young winger since last summer.
His time at Villa Park has not gone to plan as he is now set to try something new just months after returning to his former club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a big role in Philogene’s decision to join Ipswich was down to a phone call he had with manager Kieran McKenna.

Interestingly, Romano noted an ‘important bid’ had arrived from Everton for the winger, but his decision has now been made.
Philogene will undergo his medical at Portman Road on Thursday ahead of a proposed £21m move.
Kevin Thelwell was a big admirer of Philogene but the Everton chief has seen his side miss out to one of their direct relegation rivals.

Everton hindered in transfer window by keeping Sean Dyche
A lot of speculation remains surrounding Dyche’s position at the club with the Blues failing to pull away from the relegation battle.
Everton also lost out in the race to appoint Graham Potter with the 49-year-old set to take up the job at West Ham United.
And fans will now potentially be wondering whether they could have sealed Philogene’s signature had the club appointed a different manager.
Dyche has been criticised for his treatment of the summer signings, with six new faces barely making an impact despite Everton’s struggles.
Clearly, Philogene felt what McKenna could offer him at Ipswich was more appealing.
