Chelsea want compensation as Everton look to return Armando Broja in the winter transfer window, according to The Guardian.

The news outlet reports (16 January) that “complications” have emerged as the West London club want the Toffees to pay the remaining cost of the loan before terminating the deal.

Broja is back on the sidelines with another major injury, and the Merseyside outfit want to send him back to Stamford Bridge to make room for another loan signing before the 3 February deadline.

David Moyes finds himself in a dilemma with limited options in attack after the Albanian striker’s injury.

The 23-year-old joined the Toffees on loan from Chelsea while he was already carrying a fitness issue and only made his debut in December.

In the 2-0 win over Peterborough in the FA Cup though, the centre-forward was unfortunate to pick up another serious knock.

The Merseysiders shouldn’t have gone through with the deal in the first place looking at the consistent injuries Broja has picked up over the years.

Everton were wrong to take a chance on the Albania international and now find themselves in a rather tricky situation.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto are still at Moyes’ disposal, and the Goodison faithful will hope they remain fit for the rest of the season if reinforcements aren’t bought.

Youssef Chermiti is also in the Toffees’ ranks, but the former Sporting forward has not played a minute in the current campaign due to his own fitness worries.

Hopefully, some sort of compromise can be struck with Chelsea in the coming days.
