West Ham attacker Maxwel Cornet has agreed to leave on loan, according to Ben Jacobs.
The GIVE ME SPORT journalist has reported (18 January) that the Ivorian winger is set to join Italian club Genoa until the end of the season.
It is stated that the 28-year-old will be recalled from his spell at Southampton, where he has not featured since October, to finalise a deal.
The deal is understood to be a straight loan although it’s claimed Patrick Viera could be open to making a summer bid for the Irons star.

It seems pretty clear that Cornet’s long-term future lies away from the London Stadium after the latest decision that the Hammers have made.
The fact he could not get game time with bottom-dwellers Southampton is a damning indictment of his current performance level.
If he is unable to force his way into a side that is the worst in the Premier League then what hope does he have of getting into the Irons starting line-up?
If he impresses in his stint in Italy then that may increase his value and the Hammers may be able to recoup a decent amount of the £17.5million that they bought him for from Burnley in 2022.
It seems unlikely that they will get anywhere near that figure unless he excels in Serie A and outperforms expectations.
Either way, he is not likely to find a way back to East London, so it makes sense for the Irons to put him in the shop window with a temporary move away.
