This is according to former Spurs, Man United and West Ham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the manager is already aware about what is or isn’t happening behind the scenes.
Instead, there have been calls for him to work with the options he currently has available.
While Postecoglou’s comments are largely supportive of the board it is said that Levy feels his outspoken nature has put added pressure on the club to do business.
Speaking in the wake of the 3-2 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park, the manager called for “urgency” in the transfer window, although the confessed he has no issues with the way the club are doing business.
However, prior to the game, he had insisted the club need to sign more attacking players to support Dominic Solanke who has been forced to single-handedly lead the line this season.
It is those comments, Brown explained, that will lead to further frustration behind the scenes amid growing pressure on his position as manager.
Daniel Levy responds to Ange Postecoglou transfer demands at Tottenham
Speculation surrounding Postecoglou’s future in North London is rife following a dismal run of form which has seen them win just two of their last 11 league games.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that the manager would be better served by staying quiet as pressure continues to build.
“I don’t think Daniel Levy is particularly happy about that,” he told Football Insider.
“From what I hear, he looks at things like that as a personal slight against him.
“Postecoglou must know the club’s attitude towards transfers, and he’ll be aware about what is or isn’t happening behind the scenes there.
“So speaking out about things as he has done, isn’t going to do him any favours.
“There’s already pressure on his position because of the results on the pitch, he doesn’t need to add to that by publicly talking about their transfer business – or lack of it.
“It’s obvious he wants new players to suit his style, but ultimately if things aren’t working you’ve got to be the one to change them, you can’t just rely on the transfers.
“When you have players like Son and Richarlison who have been struggling, there is a feeling that instead of doing business in the transfer market, he should try to get the best out of what he’s got.”
