Everton interest in Ajax striker Brian Brobbey could spell the end for Beto at Goodison Park.
Dutch journalist Mike Verweij reports (25 January) that the Blues are set to rival Tottenham and West Ham for the 22-year-old’s signature before 3 February.
If the Toffees can gazump their Premier League rivals and bring the Netherlands international to Merseyside, it could accelerate the Guinea-Bissau forward’s departure.
The 26-year-old has constantly been linked with a move in the winter transfer window, with Tuttosport reporting (24 January) that Torino are still interested in the player.
Could Everton move on from Beto?
The former Udinese forward has scored just one goal in 13 Premier League appearances so far this season.
His only strike in the league came in the 1-1 draw with Fulham in October and he has not overtaken Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the pecking order despite the Englishman’s poor form.
There has been constant speculation this month that he is set for a Goodison Park exit and if the Blues bring in the striker who scored 18 goals in the Eredivisie last season then they could look to offload the underperforming star.
Brobbey has not hit the same heights this campaign, scoring three goals and notching seven assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.
However, he would still be an upgrade on Beto due to his physical abilities and devastating pace allowing David Moyes to utilise him as a focal point in attack.
The Scotsman is desperate to add goals to his side and if Brobbey can rediscover his form on Merseyside, it could be a great move.
