Everton end what has been an interesting first window for the Friedkin Group as Alcaraz is the first signing of the new era.
Alcaraz has a £12.5m future fee at Everton which could turn out to be a bargain from the Friedkins, as positive impressions have been made from the new owners.
The only downside to this window was the false promises, two signings were expected from Everton, which may leave fans slightly underwhelmed at just one arrival.

Another promise that wasn’t fulfilled was the spending budget that was set, as the Friedkins seemingly gave Moyes £40m which hasn’t exactly been dented.
This will come with good reason though, as the Toffees could have a summer window to remember under Moyes.
Sources have now revealed why Moyes only sanctioned Alcaraz’s deal and why no other arrivals walked through the door at Goodison Park.
According to journalist, Mark Douglas (via The i paper), Everton had wanted more signings but the Toffees insiders have said there was a ‘reticence’ from Moyes to commit limited funds to deals for players who wouldn’t add to the current squad.
PSR has been the problem for the Toffees and this was always going to be the issue but Everton’s form has relaxed the situation for the club.

Many Everton supporters will question the Friedkins’ lack of ambition to sign more players, but it’s actually incredibly smart.

This is all positive, as both Moyes and the owners are aligned on what the plan is moving forward, as Everton’s recent form has spoken volumes about the job the Scotsman has done.
