Carlos Alcaraz could sign a four-year contract at Everton, according to The Athletic.
The outlet reported on 4 February that the loan deal contains a £12.5million mandatory buy clause if the former Southampton star makes an undisclosed amount of league starts.
It is stated that the Blues will cover the 22-year-old’s wages in full but won’t pay a loan fee to Flamengo.
The Toffees left it late to complete their only move of the winter transfer window with the Merseysiders announcing the deal an hour after the window shut after a deal sheet was submitted.
Everton may regret lack of winter business
The Argentine midfielder was the Goodison Park outfit’s only signing despite the Friedkin Group’s takeover of the club in late December.
The Blues may come to regret not strengthening further in the winter window depending on how the second half of the season goes.
