Jarrad Branthwaite has been at the heart of transfer speculation for the past year at Everton, with his impressive performances catching the eye of teams all across Europe.
The 22-year-old was linked with a move away from the Merseyside giants throughout last summer’s transfer window, but the centre-back ended up remaining at Goodison Park.
Man United made several offers to secure his signature, but they were rejected as the two clubs couldn’t agree on a fee.
This summer transfer window is shaping up to be repetitive for Branthwaite and Everton in terms of offers coming in for him, only this time it’s Real Madrid who are hoping to sign him.
Industry insider Mick Brown revealed Madrid are monitoring him as Carlo Ancelotti is a “big fan” of Branthwaite.
The Spanish giants are looking to bolster their defensive options for next season, with Madrid also actively pursuing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Jarrad Branthwaite would benefit from another season at Goodison Park
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson revealed he believes Branthwaite’s value “is not going to go down” and he should consider another year learning under David Moyes.
“Real Madrid and Barcelona don’t come knocking very often, they,” Robison told Football Insider.
“So when an opportunity like that for a player comes around, you think it’s hard to knock back, it’s too good to turn down.
“You liken it to Jonathan Woodgate, what he did when he went out there to Real Madrid, and it didn’t go as well as he expected it to or as he wanted it to.
“If there’s no move there, you don’t force a move, his value is not going to go down at Everton.
“For Jarrad Branthwaite to have another season at Everton under a manager like David Moyes, he’s only going to develop him as a player and a person even more and his value will increase.
“Everton might be in a situation where they’re going to get a shed load of money in for Branthwaite which then allows them to strengthen their squad in all other areas to develop the side.
“Everton would love to keep Jaird Branthwaite and build a side around him, but actually the way the rules are at the moment, it might not allow that.”
Everton will look to financially reward Branthwaite for staying at the club
Branthwaite has played 90 minutes in every fixture since Moyes took charge of the club, becoming a pivotal part of his defensive setup.
Everton have lost just once during those seven Premier League fixtures, and Branthwaite’s return to form has played a crucial role in making that happen.

The England international is currently under contract until June 2027, with Everton holding an option to extend that by a further year.
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider that Branthwaite will become the “highest-paid player at the club” if he signs a new deal, which will see him earn around £200,000-a-week.
