Alexander Isak injury update given after striker is spotted at Newcastle’s training ground

Newcastle United have their biggest game of the season next weekend as they face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

Newcastle have the chance to end their lengthy wait for a piece of silverware next week, but they head into the game as a depleted side.

Anthony Gordon is suspended after being sent off against Brighton in the FA Cup, while Lewis Hall is injured, as is Sven Botman.

Hall is very important to Newcastle, but, sadly, he’ll miss the cup final.

Alexander Isak has been injured as of late, but, luckily, there is some good news to bring about the striker.

Indeed, speaking on his YouTube channel, Keith Downie has provided an update on Isak live from the club’s training ground.

Downie spoke about Isak after seeing him at Newcastle’s training ground.

According to the journalist, Isak was moving freely around when doing an interview, while he had a quick chat with him where Isak confirmed that he’s fine and fit to play.

“Alexander Isak, he’s here today, he was doing an interview. He was moving very freely and he had a smile on his face, he seems in high spirits, so any worry that Isak has done any lasting damage, to me, it doesn’t seem to be the case,” Downie said.

“I had a quick word with him and he said he’s fine, ready to play next weekend, so yeah, barring anything happening against West Ham on Monday night, you’ll have a fit Alexander Isak playing against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.”

Alexander Isak record vs Liverpool

Isak will have to put the team on his back if Newcastle are to win the Carabao Cup final next week.

The Swedish striker is undoubtedly Newcastle’s biggest threat in this game, and he does have a history of performing against Liverpool.

Isak, unfortunately, has never won a match against the Reds, but he has scored three goals and grabbed one assist in five games against the Merseyside club.

Isak has never been able to get the better of Liverpool, but he does know how to score against Arne Slot’s side.

Isak has been linked to Liverpool recently, intriguingly.

Cup finals are unique games in that they can ultimately be decided by one incredible moment of magic or one mistake, and having a player like Isak on the pitch can only boost your chances of being victorious on the day.

Barring any further problems, it sounds like Isak will be fit and ready to go at Wembley next week.
