Newcastle have four key players ruled out for the massive Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, and one injury update sparked reactions from teammates.
Newcastle took a step toward Champions League qualification with a crucial win over West Ham on 10 March, but now all focus shifts to the Carabao Cup final on Sunday (16 March).
Harvey Barnes impressed Newcastle fans with his performance against the Hammers, and with Anthony Gordon suspended for the final, the forward is likely to step in as his replacement.
However, Eddie Howe’s squad will also be without Sven Botman, Jamal Lascelles, and Lewis Hall for the final. One player’s latest update on his availability drew plenty of reactions from his teammates.

Newcastle confirmed that Hall has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering an ankle injury and the Newcastle defender took to Instagram to share an update with fans following his surgery.
He wrote: “Still absolutely devastated to not be out there with the lads at such a crucial part of the season. Surgery was a success and now time to rest, recover and support the boys. Thank you for all the messages over the past week, can’t wait to be back out there ready for next season.”

Newcastle’s hopes of ending their long wait for silverware, having not won a major trophy since 1955, continue to face challenges with multiple setbacks.
Eddie Howe may have already given a clue as to how his side will line up against Liverpool, with Tino Livramento slotting in at left-back and Kieran Trippier operating on the right during their win over West Ham.
Despite calls for Howe to rest key players like Isak and Guimaraes ahead of the final, both featured in the latest match. Their involvement could be a crucial fitness boost ahead of Sunday’s showdown at Wembley on 16 March.
