It is clear to see that the West Ham squad is nowhere near good enough to compete for the European places.
And Graham Potter has to change all of that in the summer, if David Sullivan allows him to do so of course.
The main remit for Potter this summer will be to sign an elite centre-forward.
Despite the fact that Graham Potter refused to rule out Michail Antonio returning for West Ham before the end of the season, the Hammers really do need to move on from the 34-year-old now.Antonio has been great for West Ham over the past nine years, but a big upgrade is needed on him in the summer.
The Hammers need some blistering pace through the middle, incredible movement and elite finishing ability.
Without a striker with those attributes, we will never make any genuine progress as a club.
However, Potter’s latest comments regarding one specific striker were hugely concerning if you ask me.

Evan Ferguson joined the Hammers on a straight loan from Brighton in the January window.
However, it has been claimed that the West Ham are actually unlikely to sign Evan Ferguson on a permanent deal in the summer.
I’m sorry, but if you’re bringing someone in for the final 12 or 13 games of the season, you have to throw them in straight away.
What is the point of easing Ferguson in? The Hammers have just 10 Premier League games left now, and he won’t be any more match fit now than he was when he joined.
Getting the odd 15 minute cameo here and there will have done him no good whatsoever.
Evan Ferguson is someone who Graham Potter should have played into form for West Ham immediately would understand Potter’s approach if the Hammers had signed the Republic of Ireland international on a permanent deal in the January window.
Then there would have been no need to rush him into form.
As things stand, it seems like the deal to bring the striker to the London Stadium was a really poor one.
Evan Ferguson has looked well off the pace for West Ham so far, but I kind of blame Graham Potter for the 20-year-old’s struggles.
Graham Potter’s bizarre comments on Evan Ferguson
The Hammers head coach made some quite frankly concerning comments about the striker during his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
Potter spoke to reporters and shared how he’s been easing Ferguson into life at West Ham, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
He’s where we expected him to be when he came in. He came in as a young player who has had time out with injuries, to come and help the squad, and that’s what he’s done.
“He came on against Brentford and made a good impact, and he’s done well when he’s been in the games. He’s building himself up all the time, and we’re really happy with him.“
I really don’t want to hear things like that.
If Graham Potter really is happy with what Evan Ferguson has served up at West Ham so far, then we’re in big trouble.
I’m really hoping that the youngster comes good for the Hammers. However, I just can’t see it unfortunately.
West Ham definitely won’t be paying Brighton massive money for him in the summer. He just feels like somewhat of a wasted loan deal for the Hammers.
