£19m Everton target has just admitted he’d be happy to meet David Moyes

Everton are due to undergo major squad surgery this summer transfer window.

The Friedkin Group splurged the cash at Roma last summer and they’re expected to do the same with Everton to return the club to its past glories.

PSR issues are set to be a thing of the past at the end of the financial year in June, so Everton will finally be able to spend without strict limitations.

Ahead of the window, the Friedkins are restructuring the recruitment team, with Angus Kinnear eyeing two Leeds chiefs.

Moyes has his own ideas, though, as he wants to bring two staff members from West Ham to oversee transfers.

And, one of his transfer targets has just admitted he’d be happy to meet up with the Everton boss.

Tomas Soucek says he’d be happy to meet with David Moyes

Everton have been linked with a move for Tomas Soucek ahead of the summer transfer window.

Moyes is eager to recruit someone in the mould of Marouane Fellaini at Everton and he had that profile in Soucek when he managed in the capital.

The pair have a very close relationship, so naturally, there has been a suggestion they could reunite at Goodison Park.

Asked about the Scotsman by Idnes, Soucek said he’d be happy to meet his former manager over a beer.

“I scored a goal, and I can imagine how crazy he was, but they equalised in the 90th minute, and I was the one who went crazy. We were both happy and a little angry at the end,” Soucek said, reflecting on the 1-1 draw against Everton on Saturday.

“We had a great trip together to West Ham; he brought me there and I thank him very much for that. We have a good relationship, and I think that whenever we meet, we can easily go for a beer.”

West Ham could demand around £20m for Soucek

West Ham outlaid £19m on Soucek during the summer of 2020 after a productive loan spell.

The towering midfielder has been a great servant over the last four years and with two years remaining on his contract, it’s likely West Ham will want to recoup the fee they paid.

Around £20m would be a fair deal for both parties and it’d certainly be an attainable fee for the cash-rich Everton owners.

Soucek would be a great replacement for Orel Mangala, who is due to go back to Lyon.
