Two of those players – David Carmo and Marko Stamenic – went straight to Olympiacos on loan, leaving nine new players for Nuno Espirito Santo to blend in.
The likes of Nikola Milenkovic and Elliot Anderson have been brilliant for Forest this season and both signed in pretty affordable deals.
Elsewhere, the impact has been minimal from the new signings, with Espirito Santo very quickly sticking with a settled core of players.
That has led to certain players inevitably growing frustrated with a lack of game time and now, one player is actually keen to move on in the summer.
Ramon Sosa frustrated with Nuno Espirito Santo
In recent weeks, with players returning from injuries, Sosa have proved the fall guy when it comes to being omitted from Espirito Santo’s squad.
The 25-year-old has not been in the matchday squad for a number of weeks and it’s now been claimed by a Paraguayan journalist that his relationship with the Forest head coach has now broken down.
Christian Martin told Versus: “For now, the relationship is broken, and Ramon will look to leave in June; he won’t want to stay at Nottingham Forest under these circumstances.
“He has a strong backbone because the team hasn’t been playing badly. Why not give him the opportunity? There have been thrashings where I could easily have given him confidence. It’s a bit of reading the player’s personality, what they failed at…
“Gustavo Alfaro (Paraguay manager) has him well now, knowing how to handle him, right? Well, now Ramon needs a bit of that from Espirito Santo. At least make him feel part of it, give him those minutes, especially in the FA Cup. I don’t know about the league, the FA Cup is a different story.
“It seems to me that the relationship is broken for the moment. Ramon, we already said, hey, he’s going to look for a way out, given the way things are right now, and the priority is to stay in England.”
Ramon Sosa stats 2024/25
Forest are going to be searching for much better quality if they qualify for the Champions League next season.
Sosa isn’t a young player simply waiting for the chance and it would appear that Espirito Santo has made up his mind on the player.
Ramon Sosa Stats 2024/25 | Total |
Appearances | 4(13) |
Goals | 3 |

The winger has done okay when called upon in the FA Cup this season but his chances in the Premier League have been severely restricted.
Sosa looks like leaving Forest when the transfer window reopens and it will be fascinating to see if another English club does come forward to take him.
