Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier send messages to former Newcastle teammate Miguel Almiron after MLS feat

Miguel Almiron has hit the ground running after leaving Newcastle United to rejoin the MLS.

Newcastle United were eager to raise money over the January transfer window and Miguel Almiron was sold to Atlanta United for £11m.

Almiron was Newcastle’s club-record signing in 2019 when he was signed from Atlanta for £21m, and he spent six years on Tyneside before returning.

Since returning, Almiron is already breaking records with Atlanta, and he has continued to keep close with several former Newcastle teammates.

In the comment section, Kieran Trippier replied with a four-word message: “Love to see it”, while Bruno Guimaraes replied with heart-eyed emojis.

Miguel Almiron’s MLS record since leaving Newcastle United

Almiron has been in good form in America and Atlanta fans have created a new Almiron chant to honour his return.

Since returning to MLS, Almiron has played in five of Atlanta’s six matches with his only absence being while he was away with the Paraguay national team.

His goal against New York City was his first goal since the move, but he also picked up an assist on his second debut for the club against Montreal back in February.

Atlanta United sit down in 11th in the Eastern Conference after an underwhelming start to the campaign. After six matches, their record stands at two wins, two draws and two defeats.
